Tiny Habitats Pattern Correction

Tiny Habitats Pattern Correction

Hello Quilters!

We have become aware of a small error on the pattern for TIny Habitats. Please find the correction below.

On the back of the pattern, it calls for “2-1/4 yards of background fabric and coordinating panel extending fabric.” However, inside the pattern, there is no mention of either cutting or sewing the Bella Solids Off White to the animal panels, which are not all the same size (the majority of the panels are oriented horizontally 6”h x 7”w but the giraffe is 7”hx6” w and the aqua elephant is actually only 6-3/4” w). It seems like a 1-1/2” strip of solid fabric needs to be sewn to each of the panels in order for it to work as written.

The person who made our sample did not see the reference in the fabric requirements and believed the cutting measurements for the C and H pieces to be incorrect for the majority of the panels (and D for the giraffe and aqua elephant). In order to get the quilt to work, she adjusted the dimensions of those pieces to correspond with the actual sizes of the panels. In the end, our quilt finished at 53” x 60” instead of the 52” x 65” noted on the pattern.

We are including a note in our kits for the quilt that clarifies the changes we made so customers can duplicate our quilt but will also note the need for an additional 1-1/2” strip of fabric if they wish to make the quilt as patterned.

Thanks so much,
